Climate Neutral and Smart IN 2030

Seville has been selected as one of the pilot cities for the mission «100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030». It is a mission driven by the European Commission with the goal of transforming 100 cities in Europe into climate-neutral and sustainable places by 2030. The purpose of this initiative is to address climate change and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

These pilot cities commit to significantly reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and implementing measures to mitigate the effects of climate change. Additionally, the adoption of smart and innovative solutions is promoted to improve energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, waste management, and other aspects related to sustainability.

"Plan Respira"

The main objective of the «Plan Respira» is to protect the health of residents and visitors, as well as to promote a cleaner and healthier urban environment. To achieve this, a series of measures and actions are implemented to reduce pollutant emissions and to encourage sustainable mobility.

Notable actions of the plan include promoting the use of public transportation, expanding the network of bicycle lanes, implementing low-emission zones, and restricting traffic in certain areas of the city. Additionally, public awareness campaigns are carried out to uplift responsible behavior and the use of cleaner transportation methods.

The «Plan Respira» also includes monitoring air quality, tracking pollutant levels, and taking corrective measures when necessary.

E - City Seville

The E-CitySevilla project is a public-private collaboration initiative led by the City Council of Sevilla, among other administrations. Its objective is to transform the island of La Cartuja, which houses the most profitable Scientific and Technological Park in Spain, into a model of a 100% sustainable city.

Thanks to this project, the territory will have a completely renewable, digital, and decarbonized energy supply by 2025, advancing the Climate Action 2050 targets by twenty-five years.

Sevilla is currently positioning itself at the forefront of energy sustainability and becaming an avantgarde urban environment in Europe in terms of innovation in renewable energy, sustainable transportation, efficient building, open data, and digital infrastructure.

Smart City Horizon Sevilla Project

The Smart City Horizon Sevilla Project is an initiative aimed at transforming the city of Sevilla into a smart city, utilizing digital technologies and data to improve the quality of life for its residents and optimize urban resource management.

By implementing advanced technological solutions such as sensor infrastructure, real-time data collection, and big data analysis, the Smart City Horizon Sevilla Project seeks to enhance decision-making, reduce environmental impacts, and promote citizen participation in city planning and management.

The information provided by the sensors is applied to various use cases, including improving building energy efficiency, preserving construction, and monitoring occupancy levels within buildings. Digitization is employed to serve the city, preserving and enhancing the efficiency of our iconic buildings.
